Dream!-Brainstorm and think about everything you’d like to see in your ideal new facility. Think about what you like in your current building. Think about what you don’t like. Consider where your company is going. If your business plan is successful, how long before you outgrow your new building? You control this process and how long it takes is up to you.
Call!-Call Empire Building Construction. We’ll sit down with you and ask you a litany of questions. We’ll sketch up a drawing of what you want. From the list of questions and our sketch, we’ll work with our draftsman to turn your vision into a blueprint and 3-dimensional CAD drawings. Depending on the complexity, this process may take up to 2 weeks. This process is always free of charge.
The only constant is change!-We’ll sit down with you again and again and make as many changes as you like to the plans. This process can take a few days to a few months. When we’re finished with this process we’ll have a set of plans that reflect your vision for your new building. From this, we will provide pricing for your project.
Land ho!-Where is your new building going to be? Do you want Empire to help in this process? Once you get your site selected, we can provide a final price based on the specifics of the land. This process usually takes place between the owner and a realtor or development agency.
Off to the Bank!-At this point, you know what your building will cost and you know what your land will cost-you’ve got a total package price that you can talk with your bank about. (Unless you’ve just won the lottery, that is)
Back to the drawing board!-We’ll make any final changes to the plans before getting started. We can cut back and save a few bucks or shoot for the moon.
All systems go!-Once we’ve settled on a plan, we’ll work with engineers, architects, government officials, and subcontractors to finalize all pre-construction details. And when we’re satisfied we’ll work exclusively with VP Buildings to get your building engineered and fabricated. Once you give us the go-ahead, your building will be ordered in about a week or so. Delivery times vary, but normally run around 6 weeks.
Let’s play in the dirt!-By the time your building arrives, we’ll have the foundation and sitework completed. Things like sewer and water lines will be roughed in. Retaining ponds and silt fences will be constructed. The site will be all ready for us to begin erecting.
Up she goes!-When your building arrives, we’ll spend a couple of days sorting components and parts. Then our equipment and crew will arrive and we’ll begin erecting your structure. Usually within 4-6 weeks we’ll have the frame, roof, and walls up. Now we’ve got a protected structure and can let the subcontractors get to work.
Hammer, chisel, monkey wrench!-Now our subcontractors get to work. We’ll supervise all necessary trades and coordinate their schedules during this key process. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC, masons, painters, fire protection, and our own concrete crews will work to see that this building is a true representation of your dream. This process can be complicated and can take up to 2 months. But once we’re done, we’ll schedule final inspections and you can move in!
